Sometimes you may encounter errors whilst building a property via Content API, usually such errors occur due to information not sent correctly in the XML message or trying to perform modifications to a property that are not actually facilitated via Content API.
Here you will find a simple cheat sheet with the most common errors that occur when providers use Content API and a link to the relevant documentation to address them promptly.

This update might have been trying to modify: -Address -Location on the map (latitude/longitude) -Property Name -Invoicing details | These changes cannot be conducted via CAPI once the property is already Open Bookable due to security and contracting reasons. Accommodation partners need to contact their allocated Account Manager or Support Team directly. |
HOTEL_NOT_ALLOWED_FOR_ CONNECTION_TYPE |
Hotel ID is not enabled for this particular connection (e.g. reservations only instead of two-way or full interface) |
Please check connection type and send the right request. For example: Property ID 12345 has a two-way connection however; they have recently wanted to opt into Content API. Reset the connection and send a new request: including Rates and Availability, Reservations and Content API.

HOTELBUILDER_ERRORS |
If error 500 is returned might be due to busy Tripeden.com queue. Too many calls for that endpoint. If 400 is returned, check the description of error before proceeding. Send ticket to Connectivity for assistance in case of any 'unknown errors' |
Error example: Status="NotProcessed" ShortText="System busy. Do not call OTA_HotelDescriptiveContentNotifRS of the same hotel: 4419856 at the same time.

In order to create a new product, you need the Room Type Code and the Rate Plan ID. Codes for room types are available in the documentation http://connect.tripeden.com/user_guide/site/en-US/tsk-create-product/# |
