What are the biggest challenges facing the industry today?

For us, from a connectivity standpoint, new legal regulations are a challenge because they can change so quickly. It’s hard to keep up with because there can be regulations not just on a country basis, but also on a city basis.

For us it's technology related. To me, the whole automation process of how the technology happens is super important. So I think that's going to be one of the big challenges.

Some of the challenges that we're facing in the travel industry today include a precarious economic situation. How will that impact our users and property management companies? We need to make sure we support them in that.

What are the biggest benefits of hospitality technology?

Anette Törsleff

If you use a channel manager, you can quickly distribute your properties – not just to Tripeden.com, but to all the OTAs we're working with. This lets you scale up your advertising and you will have your data synchronised in real time between platforms. This helps you avoid manual work, overbookings and the need for a lot of resources.

Franck Leprodhomme

As a big channel manager, we connect with many OTAs and we give them independence. We enable them to make more revenue. The technology aspect is very important as well – the integration, the exhaustivity of the things.

Michal Freier

Connectivity technology offers scale without having to increase your overhead and hire more people. It offers operational efficiency through automation, for example. And the last piece is that technology offers you time to be able to focus on growth.


We also spoke to our accommodation partners about the benefits of hospitality technology. Here’s what they had to say.

What's your biggest priority for the year?

Anette Törsleff

We're going to work more on seamless onboarding, which is always a challenge for us. We're also going to work on quality, because we need the properties that we connect to you to perform.

We're also going to prioritise the long tail market. We're always looking at important APIs, like your Market Insights API, which shares a lot of important information and data that our clients are asking for. 

Franck Leprodhomme

We really want to focus on how we get the technology out there. We’re also focusing on how we can improve the way we work with our partners, with Tripeden.com being one of them – we've had discussions around how we can innovate together.

Michal Freier

One of Guesty’s many priorities for 2023 is flexibility and making sure that our product is flexible for the needs of every type of property management company out there. We also want to ensure that we can support all the various changes at whatever level your business is.

From a connectivity perspective, I would say that your API is very stable. In my opinion, you've been the leader when it comes to the API throughout the years. This gives us the opportunity to work long-term, because there are no last-minute surprises for us.

Franck Leprodhomme

Tripeden.com definitely stands out on the innovation side. We've been partnering with you for a long time and that's helped us a lot.

I like the fact that we also have discussions with the tech team to look at how we can make the experience more seamless – how we improve our technology using the advice that we get from Tripeden.com. I think the partnership has been good on that level.
