We have rolled out new updates to the B.XML Availability endpoint, which is a part of the Rates & Availability API.

What is new?

B.XML Availability is an existing endpoint in the Rates and Availability API and enables properties to specify inventory for specific rooms, rates, and dates. On 22 March 2023, we rolled out the below improvements to this endpoint:

• Improved error descriptions
• Launched new error codes
• Improved endpoint latency

How are the updates being rolled out?

Starting with B.XML Availability, we will be introducing updates to all our endpoints using a ‘Versioning process’. In this new process, we will announce the availability of a new version of the endpoint via email and you are required to switch from the older version to the newer one before a specific date. In this case, B.XML Availability v1.1 is the new version of the endpoint through which the updates are being rolled out while B.XML Availability v1.0 is the older version which will be deprecated on 6 December 2023.

 

How do I implement these updates?

You can easily switch to the new version and try out the changes before you adopt them. To do so, you are requested to follow the below steps:

• Pass the header `Accept-Version` with the new version number i.e., v1.1 along with the existing URL as depicted below. 

• Once the version number is changed, you can start testing the updates
• Reach out to Connectivity Support using this link   if you are facing any issues
• If there are no issues, you can continue using the new version in production environment

What will happen to the older version?

The current version of the endpoint you are using is B.XML Availability v1.0 and it will be sunset on 16th December 2023. Sunsetting implies that any calls made using this older version after the sunsetting date will return an error and you will not be able to specify a property's inventory for specific rooms, rates, and dates, unless you switch to B.XML Availability v1.1. Hence, you are requested to migrate to the newer version before the sunsetting date.
